Edmonds Community College sports teams are off to a great start this year. The women's soccer team defeated Green River 3-0 and the volleyball team won five matches to take the Southwestern Oregon Crossover Tournament. Volleyball players Mindy Rencher, Anya Silva, and Eileen Chatfield made the All Tournament Team. Rencher was also named the Northern Region Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) Offensive Player of the week and Silva was named the Northern Region and All NWAACC Defensive Player of the week. Scholarships are still available for student athletes with room on the rosters of women's soccer, women's basketball and softball teams.

The college also has softball and baseball players competing Friday, Sept. 26 in the Sophomore All-Star games. Michelle Sanchez (2nd Base) will compete at the Softball Sophomore All-star game and Chris Dennis, Braden Degamo, Nick Pizzuto and Kirby Young at the Baseball Sophomore All-star game.
