Project Possibilities;
Hope Island, kayak around the island and throughout the Deception Pass state park to map shell midden sites. Would be an all day adventure.
Host a bio-bin day in the cafeteria for compostables.
Per Boris, we have $301 in the treasury.
Soap- will be wrapped in grocery paper bags for packaging, and will be sold at the craft village in December.
We need to come up with fund raising ideas;
Bake sale, soup sale? Because of swine flu any food we prepare needs to be individually wrapped. Fudge, cookies, peanut brittle, cup cakes are some of the possible foods to prepare. At the craft village our best bet for fund raising will be selling the soap and combining that with a bake sale. We could have our own decorate your own cookie booth. Also, we can use Amy's chocolate crackle cookie recipe. We could make some things organic, gluten free, vegan. Can anyone make a yule log?
OSL- Holiday cutural fair (Dec. 8th?) Different from the craft village; celebrates the different ways to celebrate the holidays.
Valerie needs to contact craft stores about fabric donations.
Thuyvi might be able to host out plastic bag to canvas bag project, the area needs a lot of ventilation
Per Amy, a SIS member is looking for help for a campus trash cleanup project. A designated leader is required, will need to collect thetrash grabbers from Steve, the gentelman in charge of recycling and garbage on campus. First trash pick should last two hours to see how it goes. Group vote, Thursdays work best, Nov. 19th from 2:30pm to 4:30pm
Per Anna, math tutors needed at the Kingston High School on Wednesday mornings with Anna, need to leave campus early to catch a 7:10am ferry, tutoring is 8-9am
This weekend, SEA boat will be going from Seattle to Tacoma. Leave campus at 6:45am to arrive in Tacoma at 8am.
mentors needed Thursdays at 8am with high school students from proof HS, working with adopt a stream, the man in charge will be wearing a Salmon suit!
