ENG 205 Week 7

I finished my paper on friday night and set it aside for class on Monday. Then i decided to watch the rest of the film, "Ghost of Rwanda" and found some really good information in the rest of the video clips! I found it pretty funny but also eye opening that even though I was content with my paper there was much more information, much more USEFUL information that I could use in my paper. I would much rather use first hand accounts on the genocide than papers wrote by people who sat in their comf… Continue

English 205 LONG blog post

Usually when I hear that a research paper is coming up I get worried. Throughout high school I would always procrastinate when it came to my papers and usually end up pulling two all nighters in a row to get it done! But with class I promised myself I would change that, instead of doing it all in a couple nights and forming a good enough paper I would spend time each day looking for information and working on putting my ideas into words that make sense. So far I feel I have done a good job, alth… Continue

ENG 205 Week 5

Topic 1

After watching "Ghosts of Rwanda", I found myself very disappointed in the United Nations, more than I was in The United States. I have always seen the UN as a group of world leaders, who's job is to keep peace and protection in the world. They should not have given into the threat and attack on UN peacekeepers, and further more it was their fault the Belgian soldiers were killed. How were the Belgian soldiers expected to protect the Prime Minister from hostel forces by means of just ne… Continue

Arya,

Ning is not the best palce to get a quick response from me, just so's ya know! For a timely response, use my email. :)

So, I think the Arayan idea is great-- maybe compare and contrast the race ideology of Rwanda and the Holocaust? Tons of potential there. And of course, how do things happening in our "existential experience" here in America relate? The NY Post gorilla "cartoon" for example? Racism is a spectrum-- where is America on that spectrum? You don't have to do any of this unless it peaks your interest, but there are some ideas. ;)

I think it's cute how all your classmates think it's lame.

The days of getting a free bus pass may be coming to an end! The choices are these--either discontinue the program or pay a quarterly fee to keep the service. If you are a bus rider would you rather pay quarterly fee or have to pay for the servic...
