I am quite excited about the projects we have lined up for the LEAF School in spring quarter, 2008. Students participating in the LEAF School will enroll for 5 credits in Anthr 101, 102 or 103. We will meet on Fridays from 9 am to 5 pm (with a half-hour on either end for travel).
Our primary community partners for spring quarter will be Stilly-Snohomish Fisheries Enhancement Task Force, United Indians of All Tribes Foundation, First Nations Student Association, Puget Soundkeepers Alliance, City of Everett, and Snohomish County.
Activities planned for spring quarter include tours of Spencer and Jetty Islands and the Snohomish River Delta, ethnobotanical garden maintenance at Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center, vegetation monitoring at Stillwater and Portage Creek Wildlife Area, powwow production at the college, and construction of an artificial trout stream at the Northwest Stream Center.
I have prepared some new albums of pictures from the LEAF School, Jetty Island, the Snohomish River Delta and Winter Activities that I encourage you to view.
